What is Children on the Edge’s raffle?

The Children on the Edge raffle is a way to show your support and help marginalised children around the world. Anyone who is a resident in Great Britain, ‘England, Scotland & Wales’ and over 16 years old may enter, and each £1 entry gives you the chance of winning one of a number of prizes, kindly donated by The Body Shop.

How much are tickets?

Each ticket costs £1.

How many tickets can I buy?

You may purchase from as little as 1 ticket up to a maximum of 50 tickets into each raffle, with each ticket costing £1.

How do I enter?

You can only enter online and pay by debit card, at https://raffle.childrenontheedge.org

Where is my ticket?

You will receive email confirmation of your raffle entry - this is your ticket. Check your inbox and junk inbox to make sure you have the email. You do not need your ticket to claim if you win, Children on the Edge will make contact with all winners, using the email address you bought the ticket through.

When can I enter and when is the draw?

The Autumn raffle closes on the 4th November 2022 and the draw date is the 8th November 2022.

How old do I have to be to enter?

The law states that tickets must not be sold to, or by, those under the age of 16. In accordance with our license we must abide by this law.

Can I enter the raffle if I live in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man or The Channel Islands?

No, Residents of Northern Ireland, The Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man and The Channel Islands are excluded from entering as they are covered by their own gambling laws. You must be a resident of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) only.

Can I sell online tickets to others?

No. This raffle is strictly licensed by the Gambling Commission, tickets can only be sold by Children on the Edge online at https://raffle.childrenontheedge.org

Players must buy the ticket themselves online, providing their name, age and address for legal reasons. You must not sell tickets to others for cash or through Paypal, or any other means. This is illegal.

Can I advertise the raffle, or share it on social media?

You can only share official images, tiles and wording provided by Children on the Edge and The Body Shop. There is a Facebook post pinned at the top of Children on the Edge’s Facebook page which can be shared.

This raffle and how it is promoted is strictly licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission and creating your own adverts, images or materials for promotion is strictly forbidden and could risk Children on the Edge losing their license, risk The Body Shop’s reputation, and provide misleading information to players.

Can I share the raffle with a friend or customer?

Yes. You can only share official images, tiles and wording provided by Children on the Edge and The Body Shop. The best way to share the opportunity is to share this link: https://raffle.childrenontheedge.org

If I am a Consultant with The Body Shop at Home™ - can my raffle ticket purchase count towards my team’s fundraising?

Yes. When you enter online, you will have the option to select the name of your team’s SVP+ leader. Your entry will then count towards the fundraising of the team you select. For example if you buy £5 worth of ticket and select “Bev Ashton” then £5 will be allocated to Bev Ashton’s team’s fundraising.

If I am a customer with The Body Shop at Home™ - can my raffle ticket purchase count towards my Consultant’s team’s fundraising?

Yes. If your Consultant lets you know the team to select, you can select the name of your consultant’s SVP+ leader. Your entry will then count towards the fundraising of the team you select. For example your consultant could let you know they are in Kayleigh Fell’s team. if you buy £5 worth of ticket and select “Kayleigh Fell” then £5 will be allocated to Kayleigh Fell’s team’s fundraising.

I didn’t select a SVP+ team when I purchased a ticket. Can my raffle ticket purchase still count towards my team’s fundraising?

No, your payment will only count towards your team’s fundraising if you enter this at the point of entry. This can not be allocated to your team’s fundraising in any other way.

What are the prizes up for grabs?

You can win one of the following prizes:

  • 1st Prize: £2,000 Love2shop voucher
  • 2nd Prize: £500 Love2shop voucher
  • 3rd x 2 Prizes: £200 voucher for The Body Shop products
  • 4th x 5 Prizes: The Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin Set worth over £40
  • 5th x 25 Prizes: Goody Bag filled with over £40 of products from The Body Shop

All entries made before the 16th September will also be entered in an extraFast Entry Draw where 10 players will win a limited edition The Body Shop branded trolley case.

How will I know if I’ve won?

Children on the Edge will contact all winners by telephone (if a number was provided when you bought a ticket) and email. A full list of winners will be published on Children on the Edge’s website after the draw on the 8th November 2022. www.childrenontheedge.org/areyouawinner

How do I claim my prize?

There’s no need for you to do a thing. If you are one of the lucky winners, Children on the Edge will contact you and then either send your prize in the post, or arrange for The Body Shop to arrange your vouchers, if you have won a product voucher.

What is responsible gambling?

Responsible gambling means staying in control of how much time and money you spend on gambling, and not spending more time or money than you can afford, and keeping in mind looking after your mental health and your other responsibilities in life. Can Children on the Edge claim Gift Aid on my raffle ticket?

No, the money collected through the sale of entries to the raffle does not qualify for Gift Aid as it is a payment for your raffle number. However if you make a goodwill donation on top of the payment for raffle tickets, Children on the Edge can claim Gift Aid on just the donation, if you complete the Gift Aid information on your entry form. Please read the declaration regarding Gift Aid carefully to ensure you are eligible.
