Terms and Conditions and Rules of Play for Raffles

Our raffles raise essential funds for Children on the Edge, to help create protective spaces for marginalised children. The draw will be administered by Sterling Lotteries, by a random number generator (Sterling Lotteries software is approved by the Gambling Commission).

Children on the Edge is licenced and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number 58689 (www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk).

Raffle is administered by Sterling Management Centre Limited, an External Lottery Manager licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number 3137. Who can enter the Raffle Draw?

You must be a resident of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) only.

Residents of Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and The Channel Islands are excluded from entering as they are covered by their own gambling laws.

You must be aged over 16.

We reserve the right to cancel or refuse entry into the raffle draw at our discretion and any such decision is final and binding.

Entering the Raffle Draw

To enter a Children on the Edge raffle you can buy tickets online at https://raffle.childrenontheedge.org

You must not buy raffle tickets on behalf of anyone who is under 16, or sell raffle tickets to anyone who is under 16.

The prizes available for any raffle will be as described at https://raffle.childrenontheedge.org

Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value. Prizes are non-transferable, non-negotiable and except where expressly stated no cash alternative will be available.

Winning Raffle Tickets

The raffle draw will be conducted on the date specified at https://raffle.childrenontheedge.org. The draw will be conducted by our External Lottery Manager at their offices (Furness Gate, Furness Business Park, Peter Green Way, Barrow- in- Furness LA14 2PE) by a random number generator which is tested by a Gambling Commission approved test house).

The winning ticket numbers will be published on https://raffle.childrenontheedge.org and will be available from Children on the Edge (01243 538530) from the following working day. Winning ticket numbers may also be communicated through The Body Shop at Home, but it is your responsibility to check the announcement posted at https://raffle.childrenontheedge.org to confirm the winning ticket numbers.

Winners will be notified by telephone, where a telephone number is available. If a winner cannot be contacted by telephone, Children on the Edge will make contact via email or letter from the details that are provided on the raffle ticket within two weeks of the draw date.

If you are a winner, we may ask you to provide evidence that you are over 16 and that you are resident in Great Britain (England, Scotland or Wales) before we send out a prize to You. If you are a winner and you are not able to prove that you have met the criteria specified above in “Who can enter the Raffle Draw” then you will not be entitled to receive that prize. In this circumstance, a new winner will be selected by the same method as the original draw, using Sterling Lotteries random number generator.

A winner’s prize is valid for six months from the date of the draw. If it is not claimed after six months, the prize will be deemed a donation to Children on the Edge.

We advise that any winning cheques be cashed within six months. Beyond six months, your bank may not accept the cheque. If you are a winner but you do not cash your winner’s cheque within one year of the date written on the cheque, or we are unable for any reason to deliver a non-cash prize to the address provided by you, the prize will be forfeited, and the prize received as a donation to Children on the Edge.

You agree that if you win a raffle prize, we can use your title, surname and county of residence to announce the winners on our website.

Self Exclusion

Should you feel that you have issues with gambling and wish to be self-excluded from any future raffles, please contact Children on the Edge at fundraising@childrenontheedge.org or call 01243 538530.

We will not send you any further raffle marketing materials. After one year from that contact, if you wish to receive raffle marketing materials, you can contact Children on the Edge to request to receive them again.

If you need to talk to someone about problem gambling then please contact Be Gamble Aware. Be Gamble Aware is a registered charity that provides confidential telephone support and counselling to anyone who is affected by problem gambling. Complaints Procedure

If You wish to make a complaint about any aspect of our raffles, you may do so by telephone, or in writing (by letter or e-mail).

Telephone complaints may be directed to our lottery helpline: 0370 085 8843 (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday). Telephone log sheets will be kept on file for 12 months. Our External Lottery Manager will inform Children on the Edge immediately of all complaints.

Written complaints are managed by Children on the Edge. By email to fundraising@childrenontheedge.org or by post to Eloise Armstrong, Fundraising Manager, Children on the Edge, 5, The Victoria, 25, St Pancras, Chichester, PO19 7LT.

We will respond to your complaint within a maximum of 7 working days. However, if we can’t give You a full response within this timescale, we will let you know the reasons for any delay and the expected date of response.

If you are unhappy with the complaint response you receive, you can ask for your complaint to be escalated to our Chief Operating Officer to review the situation and provide a response. Details of how to do this will be provided in our complaint response. We will acknowledge any escalated complaint within two working days and will let you know the names of the senior team dealing with the complaint. We aim to provide a full response to an escalated complaint within ten working days and to resolve any complaint fully within 8 weeks.

In the event that we have been unable to resolve a complaint to your satisfaction within 8 weeks then the matter can be referred to the ADR Group (www.adrgroup.co.uk) This service is free of charge.

We will keep a record of complaints and report them to the Gambling Commission as required by the Gambling Commission.

These terms and conditions are governed by English law. You agree that any dispute between you and us which cannot be resolved through the complaints procedure outlined above will be dealt with exclusively by the English courts.

Responsible Gambling

We are committed to supporting your participation in our raffles safely and responsibly. Please see Our Responsible Gambling Policy for details on how to get help if you or a family member experience problems with gambling.

We are required by our licence to inform customers about what happens to funds which we hold on account for you, and the extent to which funds are protected in the event of insolvency. We hold customer funds in a separate bank account. These funds are not protected in the event of insolvency. This meets the Gambling Commission’s requirements for the segregation of customer funds at the level: basic segregation. Liability

We will not be liable for:

  • Our failure or inability to contact you and/or award any prize due to any errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the contact or bank details you have provided or your failure to update these if they change;
  • loss or damage incurred by you in connection with Your participation in our raffles or your use of any prize;
  • any interruptions or errors on or to our website;
  • technical hardware or software errors or failures or lost, faulty or unavailable network connections; or
  • Any delays of failures in the banking system used by Children on the Edge, Sterling or you;
  • any failure or delay beyond our reasonable control.

Our liability to You is limited to the amount of any prize which may have become due to you. Children On The Edge and Sterling Management Centre Limited will not be liable in contract, tort (including but not limited to negligence) or otherwise in connection with our raffle draws for loss of revenue, contract, profits, anticipated savings or loss of data, any special or indirect or consequential losses or any loss of goodwill or reputation. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or for any other matter for which liability may not be limited by law.

In rare cases, there may be factors that prevent us from holding a raffle draw on the scheduled draw date. We shall therefore have the discretion to delay or postpone any lottery or raffle draw, if in our reasonable opinion it is impractical or not possible for the draw to take place on the originally scheduled draw date. Where a draw is delayed or postponed, we will take reasonable steps to notify you of this and to let you know the proposed rescheduled date of the draw. We will not be liable for any loss or damage incurred by you as a result of postponing the draw.

Privacy

We will use your personal information which you supply to us when entering a lottery or a raffle draw in accordance with our privacy policy. You accept that it is your responsibility to keep your contact details and bank details up to date.

Both Children on the Edge and Sterling are committed to protecting your privacy. Data that we collect from you is used lawfully in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 and is used solely for the purpose of processing the Raffle Draw, and informing you if you have won a prize. Children on the Edge is the data controller and Sterling is the data processor of any personal data.

You have the right to make a subject access request under the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 to access the information Both Children on the Edge and Sterling holds about you. To obtain this information, please contact Sterling in writing. You will be asked to provide proof of your identity prior to your subject access request being dealt with and personal information being disclosed to you.

Neither Children on the Edge nor Sterling will sell, rent or grant access to any of the personal data we collect about you to any third parties.

Sterling may share aggregated information to third parties. This will not contain personal information that can identify any individual person.

Either Children on the Edge or Sterling may be obliged to disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, for example to statutory bodies such as the Gambling Commission or other government bodies.

Children on the Edge has the right to change and/or update these terms and conditions at its discretion. Players will be notified of any material changes.
